If I Could Talk

If I could talk, no one would hurt me
They understand why I'm alone
If I could speak, no one will criticize me
They wouldn't remind me to say words
If I could shout, no more sadness will be upon me
They wouldn't let me to kill my happy spirit

I would speak at will
But that will was taken from me
I fear to say the wrong things
But the wrong words come out anyway

If only I could hold back the tears
If only I had no fears
If only I had strong words
If only the wisdom I could've heard

If I could talk, I wouldn't fake a smile
If I could speak, I wouldn't be sad
If I could shout, I won't feel a burden in my heart
